Naoki Bandou - 1957-2026.
Talent agency Production Ace announced that voice actor Naoki Bandou passed away at the age of 68 on Monday, September 28th, which was announced on Friday.
Bandou, whose real name is Koichiro Bandou, was born in Asahikawa City in Hokkaido Prefecture on December 12th, 1957. He is known as the voice of Gato in "Naruto" and "Naruto: Shippuden", Elder Centipede in "One-Punch Man", Bodoro in "Hunter x Hunter", and Vargas Dyson in "Mobile Suit Gundam AGE".
He also appeared in the "Crayon Shin-chan" anime films, including "Action Kamen vs. Leotard Devil", "The Secret Treasure of Bun Buri Kingdom", and "Adventure in Henderland". Lord Emon in "Shadow of the Colossus" and Larikush in "Baten Kaitos".
He's also the Japanese dub of Muggsy Bogues in "Space Jam", Adam Sandler in "Airheads", Splatter in "Thomas and the Magic Railroad", and Hikaru Sulu in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture". He's also the Japanese dub of Doctor Sivana in "Batman: The Brave and the Bold".
Bandou left a lasting legacy as a versatile Japanese voice actor who lent his deep, distinctive voice to dozens of supporting and recurring characters across iconic anime, video games, and dubs.
