Yuki Kanamaru's "More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers" returns from a hiatus.

The official X page of manga artist Yuki Kanamaru announced that "More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers" returns from a hiatus in the December 2026 issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine, to be released in November 2026. In March 2025, the manga series went on hiatus to focus on the author's health as the series prepares for the final chapter.

The story centers on Jiro Yakuin, a shy and nerdy high school student, who is hoping to be paired with his childhood crush, Shiori Sakurazaka, in a marriage practice. Shiori is Jiro's kind and gentle childhood friend, but she is too shy to be direct.

Jiro ends up paired with Akari Watanabe, a popular, lively, and confident gyaru, who hopes to be paired with Minami Tenjin, a cool, popular upperclassman.

Since both Jiro and Akari want to be with their respective crushes, they agree to work together to score high in the marriage practical rankings, hoping this will let them switch partners later. But as they spend more time together, their dynamic starts shifting, and romantic tension grows between them.

The manga series was published in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine in March 2018 and released in 13 manga volumes. Udon Entertainment licensed the series and released it in English, with the first manga volume released in August 2024.

It was adapted into a 12-episode anime series that aired in October 2022.
