Esu Omori's "Shiba Inu Rooms" is receiving an anime adaptation, which will air in summer 2027.

The official website of Esu Omori's "Shiba Inu Rooms" announced that the anime adaptation is in the works and revealed the details, including the cast and staff, which will air in July 2027. To commemorate the announcement of the anime, Omori is drawing an illustration to celebrate the news.

The cast for the anime series includes Niina Nakabayashi as Kori Momose, a 17-year-old female high school student who moves to Room 101 with a cold, expressionless exterior and a pragmatic mindset. She has to deal with the stubborn personality and shenanigans of her spectral roommate, Mu.

Mutsumi Tamura as Mu, an earthbound Shiba Inu ghost living in Room 101 with Kori. He is quirky, prone to funny or distressed facial expressions, addicted to devices, and initially guarded or stubborn before slowly warming up to Kori.

Osamu Yamasaki is directing the anime at the animation studio TMS Entertainment, and Rio is designing the characters.

The manga series began as a one-shot in July 2023, before it became a full series serialized in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ in June 2024, and was released in 9 manga volumes, including the upcoming 9th volume to be released on Wednesday, November 4th. It also received recognition, including 7th runner-up in the Nationwide Bookstore Employees Recommended Comics list and 4th runner-up in the Web Manga category at the 11th Next Manga Awards in 2025.

Viz Media licensed the series and released it in English, with the first manga volume released in September 2026.
