Nao Toyama performs the dance video for the ending of "Star Detective Precure".
The song was featured in the ED of the first cour of the anime series, released in February 2026. In April 2026, the song had reached 5 million views since the video was released. As of Monday, November 2nd, the TV-size version of the song has reached 9.8 million views since the anime series premiered.
According to the comments of music lyricist Kumiko Aoki, it is a catchy melody song full of playful charm, and the easy-to-remember lyrics contain an important message. Music composer Kouki Hamada said that he loved mystery novels when he was a child and created this song with the goal of blending that sense of excitement and sophistication with the essence of the series. It's packed full of surprises and heartfelt emotion.
The story centers on Anna Akechi, a 14-year-old middle school girl who is guided by the fairy, Pochitan, who travels back to Makoto Mirai Town in 1999. She joins Mikuru Kobayashi, a young girl who is hardworking and honest, yet cautious, and who wants to become a detective.
Together, they transform themselves into Precure. Anna becomes Cure Answer, and Mikuru becomes Cure Mystique as they solve mysteries, protect people's smiles, and find a way to return to her original time, against the Phantom Thieves.
The anime series will be streamed on Crunchyroll as part of the winter 2026 anime season, available in the Americas (including North, Central, and South America), Europe, Africa, Oceania (including Australia and New Zealand), the Middle East, and the CIS, every Sunday.
