Makana Watari, Yuuri Seo, and Okaya's "I'm Running for Crown Princess, But All I Want is a Steady Paycheck" manga ends.

The 166th 2026 issue of Kadokawa's B's Log Comic online manga magazine announced that Makana Watari, Yuuri Seo, and Okaya's "I'm Running for Crown Princess, but All I Want is a Steady Paycheck" will end in the 167th 2026 issue, which features a manga cover to be released on Thursday, November 5th.

Based on the light novel series of the same name. The story follows Therese Litharth, a practical, hardworking, and financially motivated daughter of an impoverished marquis. Unlike other noblewomen competing for the prince's affection, Therese has little interest in royal romance. Her priority is securing a stable income and improving her family's financial situation.

Initially reluctant to participate in the royal consort selection, she changes her mind after discovering that becoming a candidate could open the door to a lucrative position as a lady-in-waiting.

However, what initially appears to be an easy opportunity for financial stability quickly becomes a dangerous competition involving rival noblewomen, palace intrigue, bullying, mysterious incidents, and even a kidnapping connected to the neighboring country of Barba.

Rather than pursuing the prince's affection or the crown, Therese focuses on protecting her friends, navigating the challenges of palace life, and passing the necessary examinations. Ultimately, her greatest ambition is not becoming a princess but securing a dependable career as a lady-in-waiting.

The manga series was published on Kadokawa's B's Log Comic, which Watari is writing and Seo and Okaya are supervising, in January 2019, and released in 8 manga volumes.

The novel series was published in Let's Become Novelists from 2016 to 2019, and Kadokawa's Kadokawa Books published the light novel with Seo wrote and Okaya illustrated in July 2019, and released in two light novel volumes.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the series and released it in English, including the first manga volume released in September 2025 and the first light novel volume in November 2026.

The Decline of Ozine Events and the Changing Philippine Convention Landscape.

Image
Ozine Events has formally announced that its signature convention lineup, including Anime Fair, Otaku Expo, and its general event operations, will go dark following the abrupt cancellations of two major events: Ozine Idol Fest at Megatrade Hall, originally scheduled for September 26th and 27th, and Ozine Halloween Special, scheduled for October 31st to November 1st. The underlying challenges facing Ozine Events stem from a series of major controversies, including the TokuSpirits guest payment dispute and the breakdown of its Wargods partnership. These incidents have contributed to serious operational concerns, including last-minute event cancellations that have damaged community trust, financial and refund disputes involving unfulfilled merchandise pre-orders and unpaid guest fees, communication breakdowns linked to expired web domains and unreachable email channels, and the closure of its physical café. As a result, parts of the local Philippine otaku and cosplay community increasingl...
