Crunchyroll streams Bandai's "Battle Spirits [Re] - Zekkai no Ku" anime.
Crunchyroll announced that the company will stream Bandai's "Battle Spirits [Re] - Zekkai no Ku" as part of the fall 2026 anime season, available in the Americas (including North, Central, and South America), Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS, on Tuesday.
The cast for the anime series includes Taichi Kusano as Ku Bashin, a strength-seeking young man from a temple with a sacred deck, drawn into the world of Battle Spirits. Daiki Hamano as Zetsu Ajara, a mysterious, feared ronin known as The Assassin and an Eternal Battler fulfilling a promise.
The series is set in Japan during the turbulent Bakumatsu period, or the end of the Edo era. In this alternate historical timeline, a new way of settling conflicts emerges: Battle Spirits, a card game allowing samurai and fighters to combat without lethal bloodshed. However, not everyone accepts this peaceful method.
Masashi Kudo is directing the anime at the animation studio Bandai Namco Pictures, which provides the character designs and production, and Toshizo Nemoto is in charge of writing the series scripts.
JAM Project consists of Hironobu Kageyama, Masaaki Endoh, Hiroshi Kitadani, Masami Okui, Yoshiki Fukuyama, and Ricardo Cruz, who perform the OP theme song, "Here We Are", and Himegoto consists of Shion on vocals and Matatabi on composition and production, who perform the ED theme song, "Pulse".
"Battle Spirits" is a trading card game created by Bandai and Sunrise. Players use small counters called Cores as resources to summon cards, level up creatures, and pay for actions. It features Spirits, which are creatures used to attack and defend; Nexuses, which are field support cards; and Magic, which features spells with instant effects.
The card game was launched in September 2008 and grew into a massive multimedia franchise with numerous anime series, manga adaptations, and video games.
