Capcom's "Monster Hunter: Rise" has sold 20 million copies.

The official X page of Capcom's "Monster Hunter" announced that "Monster Hunter: Rise" has sold 20 million copies worldwide since the video game series was released for the Nintendo Switch in March 2021, PC in January 2022, and PlayStation and Xbox in January 2023 on Tuesday, October 6th.

The story centers on a new hunter as they defend the Kamura Village from a catastrophic stampede of frenzied monsters known as the Rampage. A new hunter must fend off aggressive monster attacks and uncover the root cause behind the sudden behavioral changes in the local fauna, eventually tracking down powerful Elder Dragons like the Serpent Goddess of Thunder to save their home.

The gameplay introduces dynamic mobility mechanics including wirebug mobility, palamute mounts, wyvern riding, and endemic life. There are also village versus hub quests, a tower-defense mode known as the Rampage, and switch skills where players can swap out specific regular or Silkbind moves for alternate styles to tailor their weapon's playstyle.

The video game series was released for the Nintendo Switch in March 2021, followed by PC via Steam in January 2022, and PlayStation, including PS4 and PS5, and Xbox, including One, Series S, and Series X in January 2023. It is a fast-paced, highly accessible action RPG that streamlines traditional series mechanics while adding vertical mobility.

"Monster Hunter" is a popular action role-playing game that began on the PlayStation 2 in March 2004 and features players who can track and fight giant and powerful beasts in natural environments, yield unique materials, scales, and bones, forge and upgrade stronger weapons and armor to tackle even harder monsters, and a weapon variety that features distinct weapon classes, ranging from massive great swords to agile dual blades and ranged bowguns.
