Tetsu Okawa and Yuto Suzuki's "Sakamoto Holidays" manga reaches its climax.

The official X page of manga author Tetsu Okawa announced that Okawa and Yuto Suzuki's "Sakamoto Holidays" is reaching its climax after the release of the fourth volume in August 2026.

"Sakamoto Holidays" is a spinoff of the original series, "Sakamoto Days", and centers on Taro Sakamoto as he juggles running his convenience store and managing everyday comedic neighborhood troubles around the bustling Ikurazaka Shopping District.

The original story centers on Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who was once feared across the underworld but retired to live a quiet life as a family man. However, his past refuses to stay buried, leading to a series of comedic yet intense battles as he tries to protect his new way of life.

The spinoff was published in Shueisha's Saikyo Jump magazine, with Okawa writing the spinoff and Sakamoto supervising in July 2024, and released in 4 manga volumes. Viz Media licensed the spinoff and released it in English, with the first manga volume released in March 2026.

The manga series began as a one-shot in Shueisha's Jump Giga magazine in December 2019, before the series debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2020 and was released in 29 manga volumes. It also received achievements, including the winner for the U-Next Prize at the Next Manga Awards in 2021 and nominated in the Best Shonen Manga category at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2022.

Viz Media licensed the series and released it in English, with the first manga volume released in April 2022.

It was adapted into two seasons of the anime series, including the first season that aired for two cours in January 2025 and July 2025, and an upcoming second season, which airs in January 2027. It also received recognition, including a nomination for Best New Anime Series at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards and a nomination for Best Anime Series at the Astra Television Awards in 2026.

It was also adapted into a novel written by Renka Misaki, a mobile video game in April 2025, and a live-action film released in April 2026.
