ComicSmart Incorporated is producing the English live-action film of Teito Yuzuriha's "Zukyun x Bakyun".

ComicSmart Incorporated announced that the company has agreed with Akii International London to develop and produce the English live-action film adaptation of Teito Yuzuriha's "Zukyun x Bakyun". Robby Monroe will direct and write for the live-action film project.

"Zukyun x Bakyun" centers on Dan, a former elite mercenary and hitman, who is ice-cold and efficient on the job but completely clumsy and flustered when it comes to expressing his sudden romantic feelings for Lyla.

His partner is Lyla, a military-trained one-woman army and top assassin who excels at combat and deadly missions, but finds herself entirely defenseless and bewildered when romance enters the picture.

They are highly skilled professional killers who work together on dangerous, high-stakes missions. While they are total experts at violence, gunfire, and combat, they have zero experience or idea how to handle normal human romance.

When Dan suddenly confesses his love for Lyla. Thrust into the awkward, uncharted territory of mutual affection, the two must figure out how to navigate a sweet, ordinary relationship while continuing to dodge bullets, break bones, and survive their lethal line of work.

The manga series was published on ComicSmart Incorporated's Ganma manga platform from October 2023 to September 2025, and released in 5 manga volumes. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the series and released it in English, with the first manga volume to be released in September 2027.
