Crunchyroll partners with Hayate Incorporated and Line Digital Frontier to produce an anime adaptation based on a Webtoon.

Crunchyroll announced at the New York Comic Con that Hayate Incorporated and Line Digital Frontier have partnered for co-productions on potential anime adaptations of 15 selected titles from Webtoon. The company will stream exclusively through this partnership in selected territories.

On Friday, Crunchyroll announced the line-up of anime titles from Webtoon and it'll stream sometime in 2027, including:

  • YC and Rakyeon's "Teenage Mercenary".

  • JH's "The Boxer".

  • Alphatart's "The Remarried Empress".

Hayate is an anime production joint venture established in March 2025, which focuses on planning, developing, and producing anime for global distribution. Their mission is to create high-quality anime tailored for the growing global fanbase.

Webtoon Entertainment is a global digital storytelling and entertainment company that pioneered the vertical-scroll webcomic format designed for mobile reading. It is a massive global community platform for reading and writing original webnovels and stories.
