The Harvey Awards are one of the major annual awards in the comic book industry. They were first presented in 1988, created as a successor to the Kirby Awards, and are given to recognize excellence in comics, graphic novels, and related media. Unlike some industry awards that rely on fan votes, the Harveys are notable for being voted on by comic book professionals, which gives them a strong peer-recognition aspect.
