Creazion Studios International will release Tatsuki Fujimoto’s “Look Back” live-action film in the Philippines in November 2026.
Creazion Studios International announced that the company will release KII Pictures and Tatsuki Fujimoto's "Look Back" live-action film in the Philippines at selected SM Cinemas on Wednesday, November 25th.
The story centers on Ayumi Fujino; she's an elementary student with a talent for drawing manga, which she publishes in the school's newspaper. She met Kyomoto, an aspiring manga artist who published her manga. Two young artists from a small town inspire each other to improve their art and become manga creators. But as they grow up, a tragedy will change their lives forever.
The cast for the live-action film includes Natsuki Deguchi and Nanase Furi as Ayumu Fujino and Aju Makita and Rokka Okada as Kyomoto. The film was directed by Hirokazu Koreeda and Kensei Nakayama are directing the live-action film, with Koreeda writing and editing. Ryoko Taguchi is writing the script, Yuta Bando is composing the music, Senzo Ueno is the photography director, Kazuhiko Tomita is the sound director, and K2 Pictures is distributing the film.
The live-action film was released first in Japan in September 2026. The film is a tender, double-length coming-of-age drama that trades the tight punch of the 2024 anime for a slow-paced, atmospheric portrait of grief and artistic obsession.
GKids is expected to distribute the live-action film in North America in late 2026.
