Kei Urana and Hideyoshi Andou’s “Gachiakuta” returns from a hiatus in November 2026.

The official X page of manga author Kei Urana announced that Urana and Hideyoshi Andou's "Gachiakuta" returns from a hiatus to be released in the next issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine on Wednesday, November 11th. In August 2026, the manga series announced that it would go on hiatus to conduct research and gather material for the upcoming story arcs.

The story centers on Rudo Surebrec, a former Sphereite and Regto's adopted son, whose false convictions led to his being sentenced to The Pit. He joins the Cleaners as part of a plan to enact murderous vengeance on his accusers and the true culprit.

The manga series was published in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine, where Urana wrote and Andou is the graffiti designer, in February 2022, and was released in 19 manga volumes. It also received achievements, including winning the Kodansha Manga Award in the Best Shonen Manga category in 2026.

Kodansha USA licensed the series and released it in English, with the first manga volume released in January 2024.

It was adapted into two seasons of the anime series, including the first season, which ran for two cours in July 2025, and the second season is currently in development, where the series won the Crunchyroll Anime Awards for Best New Series, Daruma for Best Anime and Daruma for Best Action Anime at the Japan Expo Awards, and Best TV Series in the Online category at the Animania Awards in 2026.

It was also adapted into a stage play in May 2026 and an upcoming video game to be released sometime in 2027.
