One and Yusuke Murata's "One-Punch Man" released the details for the second part of the third season in January 2027.

Viz Media announced details for the third season of Yusuke Murata's "One-Punch Man" and added that the new season will return for the second cour, which airs in January 2027.

Voice actor Makoto Furukawa is returning for the role of Saitama, a seemingly average bald man who has trained so hard that he has become the most powerful hero, capable of defeating any opponent with a single punch. However, this overwhelming strength has left him bored and emotionally unfulfilled, as he no longer experiences the thrill of battle.

The third season of the anime series follows a full-scale war between the Hero Association and the underground Monster Association.

Shinpei Nagai returns to direct the second cour of the third season, and animation studio J.C. Staff also returns to produce. Together with Tomohiro Suzuki, who is also returning to write the series composition, Chikashi Kubota, Shinjiro Kuroda, and Ryosuke Shirakawa are character designers, and Makoto Miyazaki is producing the music.

The manga series began as a self-published webcomic in 2009 and a Jump manga remake written by One and illustrated by Yusuke Murata, published in Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump magazine in June 2012, and released in 37 manga volumes. Viz Media licensed the series and released it in English, with the first manga volume released in September 2015.

It also received achievements including winning the Sugoi Japan Award and the Spanish Manga Barcelona Award for the Best Seinen Manga category in 2017.

It was adapted into three seasons of the anime series that aired in October 2015, where the series won the Most In-Demand Export from Asia at the second Global TV Demand Awards in 2020 and was nominated for Best Protagonist and Best Antagonist at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2020.
