Lovebites goes on hiatus in 2027.

The official website of Lovebites announced that they will go on a hiatus starting in January 2027.

The main reason for the hiatus is to focus on the members' individual projects and activities and to plan for future releases and other projects. The band will return with live performances in 2028.

The band was formed in 2016 by former members of Destrose, including Midori on guitar and backing vocals and Miyako on guitars, keyboards, and backing vocals. Along with Asami on lead vocals, Fami on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Haruna on drums.

The band name comes from the song "Love Bites (So Do I)" by Halestorm, which the members rehearsed together early on and felt matched Asami's vocal style. Their sound draws heavy inspiration from classic Western heavy metal and power metal acts like Iron Maiden, blending fast melodic twin-guitars with symphonic and thrash metal elements.

They received achievements including winning Best New Band at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in 2018 and have performed at major European metal festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, and Download Festival.

They performed anime songs, including "Vladlove".
