Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will screen Hajime Kamoshida and Keiji Mizoguchi's "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend" anime film, to be released in Australia, the United States, and Canada in February 2027.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that they will screen Hajime Kamoshida and Keiji Mizoguchi's "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend" anime film to be released in Australia on Thursday, February 18th, 2027, followed by the United States and Canada on February 21st, 23rd, and 24th, 2027, in both Japanese and English dub.

"Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend" is the final installment of the "Rascal Does Not Dream" series, released first in Japan in October 2026. The story centers on Sakuta Azusagawa and Mai Sakurajima, who become university students after graduating from high school.

When mysterious new cases of Adolescence Syndrome pop up, they discover Touko Kirishima, an idol leader whose strange behavior leads to supernatural events. Sakuta tries to confront new challenges as he tries to help her and uncover the meaning behind her distorted reality and his own evolving relationships.

The original series centers on Sakuta Azusagawa, a normal high school student who changes drastically when he meets a wild bunny girl who seems to be invisible to others, known as the Adolescence Syndrome. He decides to solve the mystery while continuing to get closer to the girls who suffer from this syndrome.

The anime film is a deeply emotional, bittersweet conclusion to the "Rascal Does Not Dream" franchise, which is praised for its strong character writing, impressive thematic symbolism, and emotional weight.
