Nakama Press adds two new manga series to be released in 2027.

Nakama Press announced to Anime News Network that it is adding new manga series set for release in 2027.

The company announced that the new release date for Tatsunoko Productions' "Samurai Pizza Cats" is Tuesday, December 8th. The comic book is expected to be released in April 2026, but it was delayed. The main reason for the delay is the need to frequently adjust schedules for middle-grade and manga-inspired graphic novel lines due to production timelines.

It also added two new manga series, including Uoto's "100 Meters" (pictured left), to be released in 2 volumes. The first volume will be released on Wednesday, February 17th, 2027, and the second volume will be released on Tuesday, April 27th, 2027.

"100 Meters" centers on two men: Togashi, a naturally gifted sprinter who finds purpose and social connection through his speed, and Komiya, a determined transfer student who, despite lacking natural talent, runs with fervor to overcome personal struggles.

These men explore the internal and external races of life: the ticking seconds on the track mirror emotional stakes, partnership, rivalry, and growth. It’s not just about who crosses the line first, but how each character’s journey impacts the other.

Buichi Terasawa's "Goku Midnight Eye" (pictured right) releases the first manga volume on Wednesday, April 7th, 2027.

"Goku Midnight Eye" centers on Goku Furinji, a muscular, rogue former police detective who works as a hard-boiled private investigator. He gains a cybernetic eye implant that can control any computer system on the planet.
