Kisida Kyodan and the Akebosi Rockets posted a lyric ED MV for Kazuma Kamachi and Nilitsu's "A Certain Dark Item".
The official YouTube channel of Kisida Kyodan and the Akebosi Rockets posted a lyric MV for "Meltdown", also known as "Meltdowner", and the song serves as the ED theme song for Kazuma Kamachi and Nilitsu's "A Certain Item of Dark Side", also known as "A Certain Dark Item", which has been released. The band's CD single will be released on Wednesday, November 25th.
The song is a dark and aggressive song about survival, destructive power, and the bonds between people who live in a dangerous world. Guitarist of the band, Kisida, explained that he wanted the song to have a heavy, dark, and aggressive sound to match the story's atmosphere. The band consists of Kisida on guitar, bass, and leader, Hayapi on guitar, T-tsu on guitar, and Mitchan on drums.
The song evokes overwhelming destructive force, making it an appropriate metaphor for someone who survives by being dangerous and powerful. It suggests a person or situation pushed to the breaking point, where emotions, violence, and pressure threaten to spiral out of control. It reflects a world where people must be strong enough to protect themselves, confront enemies, and survive the consequences of their choices.
The song is about living fiercely rather than passively surviving, facing danger without backing down, and finding your place in a brutal world where strength and human connection coexist. The message of the song is not to merely exist in a difficult world. Make your choices, face the consequences, and live with conviction, but remember that being strong enough to survive is not the same as finding something worth living for.
The story takes place in the "A Certain Magical Index" and "A Certain Scientific Railgun" universe. The story follows the members of ITEM, led by Shizuri Mugino, the fearless leader of the group and one of Academy City's seven Level 5 espers. They're an all-female mercenary unit working in the immoral underworld of Academy City, handling secret and dirty work that cannot be made public.
The anime series will be streamed on Crunchyroll as part of the fall 2026 anime season, available in the Americas (including North, Central, and South America), Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS, and also on Muse Asia in selected Asian countries, every Friday.
