FZMZ posted a lyric OP MV for the second season of Yuu Tanaka and LLO's "Reincarnated as a Sword".

The official YouTube channel of FZMZ posted a lyric MV for "Dream of Butterfly", and the song serves as the OP theme song for the second season of Yuu Tanaka and LLO's "Reincarnated as a Sword", which has been released.

The song is about questioning reality, struggling to understand who you are, and trying to find meaning in a world where everything can change. According to the vocalist of the band, Maquma, it is based on the philosophical paradox known as the Butterfly Dream, which asks whether the self before reincarnation or the self afterward is the true identity. The group consists of Maquma on vocals, Jack on Rap, Gavi on guitar, Honnwaka88 on bass, and Kamata on drums.

The message of the song is about questioning who you are, confronting the uncertainty of life, and continuing to pursue a meaningful future even when you cannot be sure of the outcome. It represents uncertainty about identity and reality. The struggles described in the song reflect the pain of pursuing something meaningful without knowing whether everything will work out.

Together, these ideas suggest that identity is not defined only by where you came from. It is also shaped by your experiences, your choices, and the person you continue to become. The song is about discovering who you are amid uncertainty, accepting the cost of change, and refusing to let fear or past struggles stop you from pursuing your future.

The new season centers on Teacher, a reincarnated human turned sentient weapon who acts as Fran's protector, strategist, and parental figure, and Fran, a stoic, determined young catgirl and sole wielder of Teacher, driven to achieve greatness.

Together, they venture into new regions, face tougher foes, and tackle deeper world-building as Fran works to achieve her tribe's dream of evolution. Fran continues her quest to grow stronger and unlock the next evolutionary stage, and Teacher feeds his skills and abilities directly to Fran to take down more dangerous monsters and adversaries.

The second season of the anime series will be streamed on HiDive as part of the fall 2026 anime season, available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, and also on Ani-One Asia in selected Asian countries, every Wednesday.
